Emotional Changes in Boys
When going through puberty, boys will experience as many emotional changes as physical changes.Hormonal changes can cause boys to become increasingly uncomfortable about their appearance and about what others think about them. This can lead to being depressed, sad or to losing your temper easily. A boys will also want to start exploring what makes them unique, what makes them special. As boys grow older, they may start to have conflicting emotions. This is where they are stuck between reluctance to give up their innocence, or, get help from an adult, and giving up their hobbies that are a bit childish to fit in. To add to this, boys will often get mood swings. They may swing between happiness, sadness, excitement, joy, depression and other emotions really fast. This can leave them even more confused.
Another part of puberty is having sexual thoughts. A boy will often spend a lot of time looking at/thinking about girls or people they want to be a bit more than just friends with. These are different emotions boys will experience whilst going through puberty and are normal so do not worry or feel guilty if you are feeling any. Most of these emotions will start around the time puberty starts so the occurrence will vary for everyone but they are signs that you are maturing into young men.
