Physical Changes in Boys
Boys, just like girls, experience physical changes when going through puberty. Boys will get growth spurts, adding around 10.40cm to their total height every year. Boy's shoulders will also start to widen, and they will grow muscles on their upper arms. This gives them the appearance of being really strong. Hair will grow under their armpits and around their penises. This is believed to be because it houses little bacteria that releases an odour that is to alert a nearby mate that they are sexually ready to father a baby.
Boys will also start to grow a beard, a moustache and they will also get hair on their chest. This is also most likely the cause for housing tiny bacteria. A boy’s penis will also start to grow, adding about seven fold to its original length. A boy also becomes more prone to having an erection. An erection is when a boy becomes sexually active and the penis doubles in size.
One of the first and most obvious sign of puberty is pimples. Everyone gets pimples, some get them more than others. Pimples are caused when the oils in your skin build up and push their way up through the skin, creating a pimple. Boys, if you are experiencing any of these changes, do not worry for they are all perfectly normal and should start anywhere between the ages of 9 and 14. These are the first signs of becoming an adult.
