Social Changes in Girls
To add to the stress and confusion of emotional and physical changes, girls will have to deal with social changes as well. One of the biggest social changes is peer pressure. This is especially effective against girls as they care a lot more about what others think about them and about fitting in. Almost no one starts smoking these days out of free choice, people either started a long time ago, before they knew that smoking was bad for you, or they get peer pressured into it. This is why peer pressure is so dangerous.
As girls get older, they will start spending more time taking to there friends on social media than they will face to face. This can lead to broken relationships as not talking face to face can make a relationship seem less real as no one is really making any effort. This can then ultimately lead to tears, angry words and one or two less people there to back you up when you need it.
When girls grow up, they will want more space and more independence. Girls will also want to spend more time with there friends or alone. This can lead to an argument between you and your parents, maybe even resulting in a long term fallout. A really good way to fix this is by saying you are sorry, although it must be said honestly. You should also say, 'you were right and I was wrong'. This is to indicate that you have seen your mistake. Different changes hit each people differently. Some will be hard to cope with while some will be easy. A helpful tip to managing peer pressure is when someone asks you to do something, just think to yourself: Is it safe? Is it legal? And would your parents want you to do it? If you truthfully answer these questions and get two out of three as a no, do the right thing and just don't do it.
